For me this was a very nice read. I was unaware of most of the details. It also opened up multiple threads for me to explore. Also thanks for the references, these are definitely going in to my reading backlog.
I loved watching Freedom at Midnight. Hadnt heard of Khizar Hayat Thiwana till then. I knew Sohrawardi was a snake but hadnt known that he tried to bite Jinnah as well.

For more info on the Hedge read The great hedge of India by Roy Moxham. I have not read the book but it was due to the authors research we learned about the hedge. All info about the hedge stems from this book. If you do read the book please let me know how you feel about it!
I think additional context.. Many salt workers in Orissa and Sambhar Lake were affected. The entire contract system for salt and opium is fascinating. The effect of eating less salt on the Bengalis. In the middle they had started importing salt from the UK. So I would need to read a lot more to show a whole picture of how this affected different parties.
