Enjoyed reading. Well researched and elaborate. Appreciate the idea of highlighting these role models. I would say that not just young girls, but all children should be encouraged to read about the stories of such role models.
Thanks for writing this, there are so many things we don't know, especially when it comes to women and their contribution.
On a tangential note, I just read 'Founding Mothers of Indian Republic' by Achyut Chetan. It is a fabulous book about how contributions by women members of constituent assembly to Indian Constitution been erased from memory and history even though it's just abut 75 years.
But I guess the book came out of a PhD thesis and hence isn't very easy to read. I hope someone makes their stories more accessible.
Very happy to see these stories come out of shadows.
More and more such stories are needed to counter those privileged figures that are analysed and over-analysed in the mainstream.
What a lovely read!
Glad it resonated!
This was a fascinating read Aditi! Thanks for doing the deep research and putting this out
Thanks for taking the time to comment and letting me know!

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment! Yes all children regardless of gender should know about such role models.

Thanks for the recommendation! I will read it! I would love to learn more about them!
An inspiring story of an incredible woman. And the maharanis role too was important. Women supporting women is what is needed today as well.
Excited to follow up with the book and documentary you recommended. This was an excellent piece Aditi.
