Power sharing in Afghanistan
Combating a pandemic is challenging especially if there is political deadlock in the war-torn country. A peace deal between Afghanistan and Taliban pushed for by The United States of America hangs in balance. USA hopes that resolving the political divide will lead to signing of the peace deal.

Is the insurance industry pandemic proof?
While the current Covid-19 crisis that’s engulfed the world is scary for almost every business out there, insurance companies still seem to be doing relatively okay.
One would have thought that during a global crisis is when they would have been under the most pressure. After all isn’t safety during a disaster the very reason why people buy insurance in the first place, hence affecting these companies the most? You might think so but you would be wrong.
By leaving correlated risks (think pandemics) out of the conditions they cover the insurance companies have basically figured out a way to stay healthy even in a crisis that has raised the anxieties of almost every other industry out there.

Should big tech be forced to fund journalism?
Big tech and journalism have had a fraught relationship for a while now. The latest salvos in this saga came from Australia and France where regulators and government authorities are trying to pressure the tech companies into paying publishing houses.
